transgressions is a project I began on bandcamp in 2018 to cope with a rapidly intensifying world and changing of my surroundings. it was never particularly organized; first 6 EPs at once a month (this was a decent challenge for the sake of practice, but the quality of this work succumbed to the pace), then 10 other albums/EPs at various intervals through 2022. it changed a lot from its initial inception, i originally intended for it to be primarily "harsh noise" and though labelling it with a genre has continued to be challenging, it largely veered toward "ambient" or "soundtrack-like" as time went on. i never really had an ending or goal in mind. this is how it ended up.

my faith in bandcamp was shattered by the cruel hands of venture capital, which ruins all it touches without fail and without remorse. this process caused me to re-evaluate my relationship with my creative work and the platforms it is released on. these releases are the result of that re-evaluation.

transmission is the first. it's more "music"-ish than aberration.
aberration is the second. it's more "noise"-ish than transmission.

the overlap of those definitions is blurry. i had to draw lines somewhere; those lines are arbitrary.

nearly all of it is work i had previously released through bandcamp, though not all of that work is present. it's messy, it's unpolished, but it's free. some of it has been touched up a bit, some of it hasn't. all of it has been reorganized for these releases. maybe you can think of this as a "best of" or something if you want. as for the third, there is nothing to be found here.

i'm not sure what the future of transgressions is, or whether it even has one, but i didn't want to abandon this work completely post-bandcamp, so this is the solution.
